In addition to the issues I have with sleep that I wrote about a week or so ago, pain is no new acquaintance of mine. I spent years doing labor jobs delivering hay and working warehouse jobs growing up in Northern California, I’ve crashed dirt bikes and played sports my entire childhood, and the truth is, I’m beat up. Just like you. My knees pop, my back hurts and my shoulders are always tight from an injury I was "too tough" to take care of in my younger and dumber years. In the time since, i've found CBD for pain is a viable option for me. There are a handful of promising studies that back my own personal experiences as well. Below we’ll go over CBD for pain, the facts and whether or not you think it can help you as much as it’s helped me.
Can CBD Help With Pain?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of cannabinoid, a chemical found naturally in cannabis (both the marijuana and hemp) plants. CBD reacts with your endocannabinoid system to cause effects like sleep, pain relief, relaxation of muscles and more. CBD doesn’t cause the “high” feeling often associated with cannabis. That high feeling associated with cannabis and, wrongly so, hemp is caused by tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a different type of cannabinoid and one of my own personal favorites.
Many people aren’t comfortable with using marijuana or THC in general, so many people with chronic pain are using topical CBD products to manage their symptoms with success. CBD oil and topical CBD in general may reduce:
- pain
- inflammation
- overall discomfort related to a variety of health conditions
- The research on CBD products and pain management has been promising.
CBD can offer a potentially safer alternative to pharmaceutical products for people who have chronic pain. Common pharmaceuticals, such as opioids, that can be habit-forming and cause more side effects are being replaced with CBD by people daily. However, with that being said more research is needed to proof the pain-relieving benefits of CBD oil and our other hemp products. At my last check, Epidiolex, a drug prescribed for epilepsy, is the only CBD product on the market that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved. That doesn’t mean other products are illegal or wrong. That just means that’s the makers of Epidiolex (synthetic cbd) have deep pockets, sounds like big pharma to me.
There aren’t any FDA-approved, nonprescription CBD products. They aren’t regulated for purity and dosage like other medications but here at Hempvada we always test our products not only for purity and dosage but for toxicity, solvents and bacterias.

How Does CBD Relieve Pain?
While there have been numerous studies on CBD and its effects on pain, there has yet to been a study to pinpoint exactly why. Although, myself and many scientists do have opinions.
We can tell you from personally experimenting with isolated cannabinoids and CBD extracts in general that broad spectrum CBD and full spectrum CBD products have a stronger sedative effective than isolated CBD products. We’ve also found the combinations of CBN of legal amounts of THC in full spectrum products provide that “kick” you would be looking for to get better pain relief.
CBD Oil For Pain
We’ve found CBD oils designed to pain are the best way to really get what you are looking for. Everyone has a cell-signaling system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS), some may suffer from a suspected symptom call endocannabinoid deficiency.
Researchers think that CBD interacts with endocannabinoid receptors in your brain and immune system. These receptors are literally tiny proteins attached to your cells. They receive signals, mostly chemical ones, from different stimuli and help your cells respond. Naturally your body produces anandamide, the bodies naturally occurring cannabinoid.
This response caused by the signals of cannabinoids like those found in our Hempvada CBD oils, creates anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects that can help with your pain management. This means that CBD products can probably benefit people with chronic pain, such as chronic back pain, joint pain and more. As I say, it has helped me!

Does CBD for Pain Work?
One 2018 review covered how well CBD works to relieve chronic pain. The review looked at studies conducted between 1975 and March 2018. These studies examined various types of pain, including:
- cancer pain
- neuropathic pain
- fibromyalgia
Based on these studies, researchers concluded that CBD was effective in overall pain management and didn’t cause negative side effects. I personally have the neuropathic pain that came with my back injury, I’ve found CBD works for my pain.
How to Use CBD for Pain
Our Releaf CBD Oil Tincture comes in multiple concentrations. We would suggest starting with our 3000mg CBD Oil and using a quarter dropper. This ensures you get more uses per bottle than with our competitors. However, if you deem that it seems too large of a dose, use a smaller concentration like our 1000mg. If it wasn’t enough try using more or upping to the 5000mg oil tincture. In any case keep in mind the higher MG is for those of us with a higher tolerance with cannabinoids or plant medicines. That is the one I use specifically for myself.
